Three Little Pirates

Hello friends, or should I say AHOY!

I can’t believe it’s Halloween time! I have to say, my little crew is pretty excited! We’ve been gearing up for a while and our little spider, Spooky Ooky has been in full swing, bringing gifts and fun little Halloween inspired stickers to Corbin since the beginning of this month. Check out our fun family tradition (here).

Corbin is fascinated with Halloween, y’all! He LOVES scary goblins, skeletons and was insistent on being a vampire or frankenstein until we found his pirate costume. He now runs around the house yelling, “Aye Me Hearty” at our dogs.

Last year, Corbin and Oliver were superheroes so I thought I would keep the tradition alive by coordinating their costumes again and of course, adding London to the mix as well. So, while strolling down the pet isle at you guessed it, Target (alone mind you) I spotted pet pirate costumes and literally about died! I honesty was probably a little too excited! Sold and Sold!

Frankly, I will say, the photo sesh last year was a lot easier with just the two of them but I had to try and capture all my sweet, little pirates, and add it to the baby book and try to freeze frame time. I’m totally THAT mom, and I’m not mad about it, even though they may not be too happy about their inability to walk comfortably, they sure look cute! 😉 Don’t worry, they all got a little treat after semi cooperating!

We love Halloween and seeing all of the fun costumes, trick or treating in our neighborhood and yes, loading up on a little too much candy! It only comes around once a year, so enjoy it while you can!

Whether you host or attend an annual party, trunk-or-treat, or just stay home and hand out candy to kids in your neighborhood, we hope you have a fun, safe and Happy Halloween!

Happy Friday!

Yesterday was a busy day for Corbin and me! We got up early, grabbed our bags, and headed out on a jet plane to visit my grandma and auntie for the weekend! We are now in beautiful Phoenix where the sun is shining and it feels like summertime but back home, its not so warm. It’s in the 50’s in the LBK today and it’s perfect for a chunky knit sweater and a pair of my favorite leather accessories.

Today, I’m partnering with Hublovecrafts to bring you the cutest and most stylish leather earrings. To say I’m obsessed would be an understatement because if you know me, you know I LOVE leather earrings and everything about them lately! Shannon, the owner is a local designer in Lubbock and she makes some of the prettiest and most versatile earrings I’ve ever worn. They are so light weight, and her attention to detail is seriously impeccable. I absolutely love this grey and gold pair and the fact that they go with so much in my closet.

The light weight aspect is so important for me, simply because when I got my ears pierced many moons ago they were pierced unevenly, so through the years of wearing heavy earrings, and it doing no justice; I honestly just need to bite the bullet and have them sewn up and repierced, but ain’t nobody got time for that! So these are PERFECT for me because it feels like I’m wearing nothing while still making a statement!

I absolutely love shopping locally and supporting businesses within my community and Hublovecrafts is a favorite that I will continue to stand behind for years to come! You can find her products on Instagram @hublovecrafts, through local shops like Lovely Me Boutique, Modest Truth & Trend and most recently J. Hoffman. Shannon is amazing, y’all! I am so thankful and honored to be able to share her with you and I hope the next time you’re browsing the web or shopping locally, you will check out or even purchase her unique and beautiful earrings! I can promise you will LOVE them as much as I do!

Thank you Shannon and Hublovecrafts for allowing me to showcase your beautiful work.

The perfect LBD

The perfect LBD

It’s Tuesday and starting the day off with an extra shot in my latte is making it feel not so beginning of the weekish today! Ready to tackle all the things while my babe is in school! And yes, I make up my own words around here! (weekish, whatever.) 😉

First, the important things in life! Is anyone else watching This is Us?! Y’all, I have yet to get through one episode without literally balling my eyes out. It is just SO good! What on earth happens to Jack? I am dying!!! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my Real Housewives, but every week it’s so nice to watch something with meaning and I guess, in my case, have a good cry!

On an entirely different note, we’re predicted to have some cooler days later this week (YAY) and if I’m being honest, am so ready for sweater weather I can hardly stand it! Until then, I’ll soak up these last warm days in style and show a little leg! Ha!

This dress just feels like the perfect match for our current West Texas weather. It has embroidery, which is a must this season, and happens to be one of my favorite go-to colors; black is always a good idea and something I tend to wear more often than not. The floral embroidery just adds a little feminine touch and that ruffle detail is what sealed the deal for me! I have a thing for ruffles and any attributes that create a sense of uniqueness, like in this case, the drop waist. Also, did I mention it’s 30% off right now and comes in petite as well? (See the bottom of this post for size details).

This LBD can be worn a variety of ways. I think it would be so cute worn with short red or white booties as a trendy option or lace up ballerinas for a more casual look. I chose to pair it today with my favorite OTK boots, and dress it up a tad. I love this look for a date night with my hubs and in my opinion, a girl can never have too many little black dresses.

So, if you’re in the market for a new LBD, I highly suggest considering this pretty option. It has an amazing fit, (size down) and the quality is fantastic. A classic with detail that won’t be going out of style anytime soon!

Have a great rest of your Tuesday & thanks for stopping by!

Suede, Stripes & Studs

Suede, Stripes & Studs

FriYAY!!! My second favorite day of the week!

Today, I wanted to share an outfit that I’ve been dying to actually wear in real life, yet the weather has yet to permit suede anything. Therefore, I’ll just continue to wear it in my air conditioned house until further notice; looking chic while doing the laundry and dishes! Ha, only kidding. Well, sort of!

I bought this jacket during the #nsale, as most of you know I talked about it on Instagram probably a little too much! It was just way too well priced during the sale to pass up, and I loved the color, so naturally it landed right in my cart and into my closet. The color is “spice” and well pictures simply don’t do it justice, because it is beautiful and the quality is amazing! I love Blank NYC and have worn their jeans for years. I am now starting to have a problem in the jacket department folks, as they are top notch. Not a problem for anyone else, except for my bank account, and possibly an eye roll from my extremely good-looking husband. 😉 From fit to detail, I don’t think I’ll ever buy another brand of suede or leather jacket! If you don’t own one, I’ll be sure to link them and some other options at the bottom of this post! Leather and suede jackets (even faux) are a must have in my opinion!

Also, can I just tell y’all, as if you didn’t already know, I have a major shoe addiction! Needless to say, a mad crush on these booties! I literally stalked them repeatedly on the Nordy’s website because they were such a hot item during the #nsale and they would sell out like hot cakes every time they were restocked. I mean within seconds, y’all! GONE and GONE! So, I pretty much had given up all hope, until one random night, I found them available, in MY size and a 5.5 only! They had gone back up to full price, YIKES but you only live once. Am I right?!

So glad I was able to snag them to add to my collection! They go with so much and for a girl who wears a lot of flats and sneakers, are super comfortable.

I also love this outfit paired with turquoise. As a New Mexico girl, born and raised, turquoise is a must! I love it and love the statement it makes for any outfit. Especially against my striped top from Modest Truth & Trend, it is such a perfect accessory. This specific turquoise piece is from Daisy Dukes! With their edgy and trendy style I can always find something I can’t live without on their website. Linked below!

With that, it might not be today, but very soon this outfit will make its debut in the city of Lubbock and honestly, I can’t wait! I am ready to dust off my leathers and rock them all over town! Date nights, CDO, even the grocery store better be ready! The cooler weather is coming, and for the love, will hopefully be here to stay! Can’t wait to style the season!

Have a great weekend & cheers, friends!

Corduroy and Pearls

Corduroy and Pearls

Hi friends! I hope you all had the loveliest of weekends!

If you are new to following the blog, here’s a little bit about me. I was born and raised in the small town of Roswell, New Mexico. Some of you may know it as the alien town and to this day, I get asked frequently if they are in fact, real. Well, I wish I knew that answer, but unfortunately, I guess you’ll just have to visit in order to find out. Preferably, on the weekend of Hike It and Spike It; the biggest 4-on-4 flag football tournament in the nation. Take note, it is over Memorial Day Weekend and if you’re reading this Dad, you’re welcome! 😉 Really though, Roswell is such a cute and quaint town with some of the best authentic Mexican food known to man. My opinion, yet I doubt I would have many in disagreement.

Growing up in New Mexico has its pros. One of the biggest is about an hour west of Roswell. It is a beautiful little oasis in the mountains and is a town so many of my fellow Texans, I know are familiar with. I love Ruidoso! The cool mountain air, horse races, The Inn, skiing, and most importantly the SHOPPING!

I will be the first to admit, I’ll be the last up Ski Apache, but you can bet that I will venture into my very favorite boutique for some retail therapy. I have shopped this boutique for as long as I can remember and they have literally been in business for as long as I have been on this earth. They are such a staple in Ruidoso and now in Lubbock and I am beyond excited to share them with you! I never would have imagined that I would be teaming up with J. Roberts to bring you some of their newest merchandise, but they say dreams do come true!

Today I will be sharing two looks that are so great for this season and will be items to wear multiple ways for seasons to come!

First and foremost, how cute are these pearl embellished jeans?! They are so fun, I can hardly handle it and this blush bomber is such a versatile piece that I know I will wear through this fall season and into spring. Blush is HUGE right now and a color you NEED in your closet, my friends! I have paired this outfit with sneakers but think it would be so cute dressed up with a fun bootie or even heel for a night out! The sky is the limit with both of these pieces, honestly! Not to mention, they are equally super affordable, which brings me to my next point. Another reason to LOVE J. Roberts is that they have the cutest and most on trend clothing and accessories for such reasonable prices. These jeans ring in at $52 and the bomber is under $45. Simply an #addtocart moment!

So, let’s just talk about this corduroy sweater for a minute. Stop traffic!! The color is ahhhmazing and these jeans, well they just speak for themselves! I am loving frayed and fringe on practically anything, so when I saw these skinnies, (insert all the heart eyes) I had to have them!! Also, this necklace is $18 and will be one I wear with literally everything! It’s gold and has just the right touch of crystal detail for the perfect amount of sparkle. I have paired this outfit with a fun leopard heel to complete the look.

I absolutely love the opportunity to share my fashion insight and opinion on trends, seasonal items and putting outfits together, but what sets it all apart is when I get to work with companies I believe in and brands I love and have enjoyed for so many years. It’s really the icing on top of the cake for me! J. Roberts is just as incredible behind the scenes as they are in the window, so I hope you’ll visit them the next time you’re in one of their two locations. You will love their unique sense of fashion and the broad selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories they offer! For further information on the looks above or for updates and to shop, visit the Ruidoso, NM or Lubbock, TX locations as well as, Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you J. Roberts for sponsoring this post!

Accessorizing with Sweetheart Designs

Accessorizing with Sweetheart Designs

Happy Friday, everyone! So if you’ve known me for a while, you know that my ability to go a little overboard on accessorizing has become very well noted. I remember in college, most people just didn’t understand my love for arm parties and now its all the rage! So I guess I was quite the trendsetter, ha! Or thats what I like to tell myself anyway! I have since toned it down, and now love pieces with more versatility that I will wear for years to come. This love ranges broadly from fun earrings to baubles, personalized cuffs and stackables and so on, and these days when I find a great piece that I absolutely love, I am inclined to share!

Which is why I am SO excited to partner with Sweetheart Designs today! A fun and unique handmade jewelry line that I know you’ll love!

Kelli Dunn, the owner of Sweetheart Designs and I met in Junior League and from the moment our paths crossed, I just knew I was going to love this girl! I especially love her gift of creating custom bracelets (children’s names/special sayings) and her druzy collection. She exerts so much talent and has an incredible eye for design. Also, did I mention she is a beautiful mama to four precious children? I don’t know how she does it y’all, but she does it all with such grace and is a total rockstar. She is what I call #goals!

Favorite Fall Tees And Pumpkin Patch Fun

Favorite Fall Tees And Pumpkin Patch Fun

It is officially fall and one of our favorite things to do as a family is to visit the local pumpkin patch. We find pumpkins for carving, ride the tractor, get lost in the corn maze, but mainly, my end goal is to display as many pumpkins on my front porch as possible, of course, in Pinterest like form. We just love this time of year! So much!

Today, I’m so excited to be teaming up with The Rooted Pear to share the CUTEST fall tees. This duo is not only amazing at designing and printing meaningful and faith centered clothing, they also have the perfect balance of home decor ranging from throw pillows to beautiful hand-painted farmhouse style signage. Y’all, I could so easily get into some trouble while browsing their IG account and on Etsy. I’m thinking I may need to make sure Conrad’s still on location on the day that UPS shipment is delivered! 😉

In all honesty though, what sets this company apart from the rest and what I love most is that they reflect and incorporate scripture into their brand. It is something that stands out to me, so when they approached me in collaborating I was beyond excited and even more so, honored.

Suzy Baldwin and Brittany Purkey are the pair behind the Pear! Essentially two best friends from the Dallas area who share a passion for using their creative gifts to glorify God. The inspiration behind The Rooted Pear comes from Deuteronomy 6, which says “Write (the commandments) on the door frames of your house and on your gates”. Their mission is to encourage conversations about God’s love and mercy with family, friends, neighbors and anyone who enters and is welcomed into their, as well as, your home.

The intent and message behind their products simply radiates goodness. For instance, they pray over each item made before it is prepared for shipment. It is blessed before it even enters your home, and to me that speaks volumes. I feel as if these sweet women are changing lives one order at a time and will continue to influence this broken world through their kindness in loving and encouraging others and, of course, with their amazing talent and gifts. So thankful to have been a very small part of this beautiful company in partnering with them.

Corbin and I had so much fun choosing pumpkins and wearing our darling tees and for a limited time The Rooted Pear will be offering my readers and followers a coupon code when ordering through October 14th. Use the code BBFALLTEE and remember to follow The Rooted Pear on Instagram and Facebook for updates on current and new designs. You can also shop Corbin and my tees at Happy shopping, friends!

Thank you so much to The Rooted Pear for sponsoring this post.

Living Life Productively

Living Life Productively

Happy Tuesday, beautiful!!

Today I wanted to share some fun and fabulous jeans and shine a little light on staying productive. These are just a few tricks that tend to work for me, and honestly help me from feeling overwhelmed in life. On that note, it’s important to mention that in no way should you feel like this advice has to work for you. Totally all my opinion!

First, this may be small, but it tends to get my day going in the right direction. That is, waking up before Corbin. When I get up before he does, he’s a late sleeper so this makes me want to stay in bed sometimes, yet getting up earlier helps start my mornings. A cup of coffee, working out, journal time (bible study), making his lunch or simply just washing my hair and getting dressed is such a great habit. I don’t do this all the time, but every day I do, I feel a million times better, not rushed, and am ready to conquer the day.

Always go to bed with a clean kitchen. Y’all this is a must for me. I am a little bit OCD as it is but waking up to a clean kitchen is a total game changer. Having spaces tidy makes for a much happier mama.

Create a to-do list. Organize the list to prioritize the most important items or errands first, then the least important at the bottom. I can be super forgetful so this ensures that I get my list completed or at least the majority/important stuff finished.

Wash your face before bed. Simple, yet life changing advice. I always feel so fresh going to bed with clean skin. I still wash my face in the morning too before applying make-up but this ritual at night before bed leaves your skin feeling soft and you’re less likely to have break outs. Can I get an amen?!

Make specific chores for each day of the week. For instance, Monday dust, Tuesday clean the floors, Wednesday change the sheets, Thursday is laundry day, and Friday clean the bathrooms. Have your kids partake in the chores also. Corbin loves helping with the dishes, feeding the dogs, and sweeping. This is a great way to start teaching responsibility, but make sure that the chores are age appropriate.

Organize a small space in your home once a week. It can be a drawer, or home office, pantry or even organizing your kids toys. Totally depending on what you feel like tackling that day. This creates less clutter and prevents the dread that comes with “spring cleaning” each year.

Last, and most important. Make time for yourself. Take one hour, (at least) per day or week to get a manicure, go to the gym, have lunch or dinner with your favorite girls, catch up on your recorded shows, or just sit in the bathtub with a glass of bubbly. Time to just reflect and relax. We all need time for ourselves and it tends to make us BETTER.

Now, for the fun part! THESE JEANS!! Y’all, I was so hesitant in purchasing these leopard jeans. Some of you may recall my Instastories about them. Looking back, I guess it was just my own insecurities in wearing such a bold print. Yet, I really LOVE them and am SO glad I kept them. I think they will be so cute paired with a variety of options this fall.

I love Gap and have always been a fan of their fit and affordability. These jeans come in black also and are so cute! Shop this look at the bottom of my post and enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!
