Baby H bump date

Baby H bump date

Whew, we’re finally into trimester numero dos and I couldn’t be happier to finally have some energy back!

I was so tired this time around for the first 10 plus weeks that I felt like I couldn’t hardly get anything accomplished. I’m horrible with laundry, something you already know if you’ve been following for a while, so that wasn’t any different but I just had zero motivation to clean or be as productive as I usually am. Plus, I have a four year old, so naps are few and far between and he is constantly on the go! So happy to finally feel like I can get through the day without a 4 p.m. bedtime!

Also, if you don’t believe pregnancy brain is real or haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing it, I’m here to tell you, it’s legit. I remember forgetting things while I was pregnant with Corbin often, and still do at times, but never have I ever left food at a drive in window, paid in full, until now. Sure, I’ve left my keys in the refrigerator, forgotten to pick up our dogs at the groomer, and left my phone numerous places, but I’ve never forgotten food! Who am I?! It was one of those nights that I wasn’t feeling like cooking, Conrad was still working and so I just thought, we’ll pick up Rosa’s and maybe head to bed a little earlier tonight. I sat in line, for no joke 30 minutes, pulled up to the window, paid and drove off. Corbin had fallen asleep on the drive home so I went in and put him in his bed, then back to the car to get the most delicious nachos ever, only to realize after 20 minutes of searching high and low that they were nowhere to be found. I may have had to ask Jesus for his forgiveness due to my choice of words once I finally realized what I had just done. Luckily, Conrad was close to home so he picked something else up and brought it home. Seriously, though! Have you ever done something like that? That poor lady at the window probably thought I was completely out of my mind. I can only imagine what was going through her mind! Anyway, I’m sure there will be plenty more of those moments ahead, but this was one I had to document, but hopefully not ever relive! 😉

Beyond my memory mishaps, I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! I’m 15 weeks this week and to me, it feels like we just found out, yet here we are, little baby bump and all. I definitely feel different this time around. I remember with Corbin I felt amazing, wanted to eat ALL the fruits and veggies, was a super healthy eater, went on walks and mopped our floor daily. I also napped all the time and just got to focus on growing him. This time I still fell pretty good, no morning sickness PTL, but have had acne, am super moody, poor Conrad, have bouts with hypoglycemia, so if I don’t have a snack on hand I feel like I’m going to pass out and get super nauseous. I’m also growing a little rounder. Not to mention, meat and snow cones sound amazing! So completely opposite food wise from last time. Still eating healthy, but if I want a hamburger, I’m getting one! Lately, we’ve just been playing outside and laying by the pool to soak up these last couple weeks of summer and I’m taking it day by day! If I have energy to go for a walk or exercise, I do. Then on certain days, if I feel drained, I just call it a night early.

Last week I went in for my monthly check up and then to an ultrasound and thankfully everything looks great! Baby is measuring right on schedule for our February 21st due date and seeing those little legs and arms and the activity was so amazing! We have a busy little bee on our hands and it is the most precious sight! Corbin is also so excited and it makes it all the more fun! He kept asking Dr. Lampkin when he could see the baby! Our doctor has a sonography machine in office so we’ve been so lucky to be able to sneak a peak at baby each time we’ve gone for a check up! Baby even waved at big brother during our session! They will be the best of friends I can’t wait to watch them grow up together and see Corbin’s reaction when they meet for the first time. We are all just so excited!! I will say the sleepiness and mood swings will be so worth it once that sweet bundle is in my arms. I am over the moon for that moment.

A few fun facts about baby right now thanks to the Bump app! Loving this app as well as Ovia. Both are awesome and informative, so if you’re expecting check them out! Baby is the size of a naval orange, can hiccup, and is squirming around like crazy, which we got to witness last week! Baby is weighing in around 2.5 ounces, and measuring 4 inches, is able to make facial expressions, swallow and suck his/her thumb! So many amazing things happening this week and I just feel so blessed to be able to grow snd carry this tiny miracle! Also, fun fact! We know what we’re having and will be announcing very soon!!! Stay tuned!!!

Have a great week, friends!!

4 things I am loving about my 4 year old!

Happy Tuesday!

As you may have seen recently, Corbin turned four on August 6th. To put it lightly, I can hardly believe I have a 4 year old little boy. Time just seems to go by WAY too fast for my liking and before I know it he will be 18. I don’t even like to think about it!!

Something you may also already know is that we were on a cruise during his actual birthday celebration so getting to write about him just wasn’t possible. Now that we’re home, I thought I would sit down and type up 4 of my most favorite things so far about the big FOUR and our sweet boy!

Besides the fact that he can now grab his own snacks, ha, I love that he enjoys responsibility, even at four. He helps me around the house, has learned how to make his own bed, will carry a load of laundry to the washer and likes to transfer it once washed, puts up dishes from the dish washer (all of these things with my help) and genuinely loves to work and to feel included in all that Conrad and I do. He is honestly JUST like his daddy and likes to stay busy doing different things all the time. This gives me so much comfort because I know he will be such a great little helper when his baby brother/sister is born simply because of how he already is. Conrad is also already teaching him the ropes to the business as well! 😉 They are constantly building, fixing, and constructing in our garage. I think it’s precious that he has a heart to serve and I hope he always does.

Secondly, Corbin is so creative and adventurous! Whether he’s batman with his cape saving the world, calling for backup on his pretend radio, or simply running across the yard to see how far he can slide on the slip n’ slide, he is always full of fearlessness and adventure. I love that little boys are this way and in this life, I pray that he can always find a sense of adventure in all he does. That his child-like ability to have fun never wavers. He finds so much joy in the little things in life and makes anything exciting and entertaining.

His dance moves. Y’all, talk about shake what your mama gave you! Ha, he definitely got his moves from me. Bless his heart! His newest move that happens to be my favorite is called “washing his hair.” It’s hilarious!! I love to watch him dance and make crazy, silly faces. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the kid doing the worm at the school dances one of these days. Do they still have those? I’ll have to share a video of some of these dances he comes up with soon. I die. They never cease to make this mama and whoever else is around smile.

I could go on and on, and kind of do in this last paragraph, so hang tight but have to share a few things off the top of my head that he’s said or done in recent months. If you know Corbin, you know he likes to analyze and is already becoming quite the negotiator. I should probably get onto him a little more for this, but for now I think it’s funny and harmless. I know I’ve mentioned this before but he stays with my parents one night weekly, and he and his Grumpy were up early deciding what to eat for breakfast one morning, when Corbin suggested ice cream. Grumpy politely explained that ice cream for breakfast isn’t a very healthy option, and Corbin’s response was matter of factly that it had to be healthy because it had nuts on it. “Anything with nuts is healthy, Grumpy. Gosh!!” He says some of the darnedest things and his ability to justify what he wants can be interesting, yet rivoting. Another instance recently is when we went to the pool and he was just super cranky. I honestly thought he was just tired and so instead of continuing to swim, we decided to load up and head home. On the way, he ate a snack and sweetly apologized for his behavior, stating that he was really sorry, but boy he was hungry. Just like that! Haha! It can be really hard to be stern with this one, y’all. I try but he just has a way of melting my heart and making me giggle. Like yesterday, an ambulance pulled into our neighborhood and took one of our neighbors to the hospital. As they passed, Corbin waved at the EMT asked if we could say a prayer for them. He bowed his head and held my hand and asked for Jesus to make them feel better. All by himself. I stood there in a puddle just thinking wow, how sweet it is.

I’ve said it before and will more than likely say it a million more times, but I feel like such a blessed mom and I hope that every day he knows I love him with everything I am, yet knows Jesus loves him even more. Just when I feel like I’m failing on those harder days and feel I haven’t taught him just what he needs, he does something out of the blue that completely blows my mind. We pray every night together, and the fact that he has carries that into each day, like yesterday makes me realize, we are guiding him on the most important path. The right path. My simple prayer in year four and for years to come is that he continues to learn to rely on the Lord and obviously that he will always be his mama’s boy. The fact is, he is growing up my friends, and as amazing as he is becoming, I too just have to pause and say thank you for such a wonderful gift and another year to celebrate our sweet Corbin Lee.

With a grateful heart,

Talbots

Talbots

Hi Friends!

Today, I’m teaming up with Talbots to share the ultimate jeans style guide with you all. Talk about some great jeans that are suitable for everyone! With five styles to choose from (skinny, straight, slim, bootcut and relaxed) women of all ages, shapes, and sizes can find a fit most flattering for every body type and season of life. Personally, I chose the jeggings or skinny style as I feel this is my go-to style and fit for me personally and one I wear most often. One disclaimer is making the suggestion to potentially size down one size, especially if in between. I am wearing a 2 and could easily have sized down to a 0. They are high waisted, full of stretch and the dark wash is so good for every day wear. I chose to pair them with the Talbots cactus tee and on chilly mornings, taking this look from summer to fall, adding a cardigan and cute bootie to complete the outfit.

These jeans will literally take you from a casual day at work, to a quiet dinner with your family or a girls night so easily. I love that there isn’t any distressing so they literally can be a staple for anyone wanting a good wash and fit for years to come. Talbots’ selection of jeans not only comes in a variety of styles, but several wash options as well. They aren’t the cheapest, and are around $95 per pair, but I feel as though quality speaks for itself and you get what you pay for.

For me personally, I think Talbots is trying to target a younger, chic and sophisticated generation, while still serving the customer base for which it’s established and I honestly think it’s incredibly smart to widen that gap and include more products that appeal to both markets. My grandmother has been a long time Talbots customer and friends of mine are now starting to shop with them as well.

It’s been so exciting to be a part of this new generation, fun launch and share the great pieces that Talbots has to offer. I hope that you will take a moment and visit their site to see how many cute pieces are available and the next time you’re in or near a store, try their denim line! You won’t be disappointed!

Thank you to Talbots’ for allowing me to share your brand and be a part of this amazing campaign.

Cuddle & Kind

Cuddle & Kind

Happy Thursday!

A couple weeks ago we were contacted by a company known as, Cuddle & Kind and within days Corbin was sent the sweetest package with so much meaning. Not only does Cuddle & Kind  create the cutest handmade dolls, they do so with kindness and thoughtfulness for others and have such a big heart for those in need. Each doll sold provides 10 meals to help feed children around the world who otherwise may go hungry. An even sweeter bit of detail, Cuddle & Kind was established by a family of five. Derek and Jen and their three beautiful children created this company to help others, little did they know they would reach MILLIONS. Together as a unit they have provided nearly 4.5 million and counting meals to children in need and have a goal set of one million meals per year. How cool is that?! You guys know my love for charity, heart for helping others whenever possible and when it comes to children, animals and elderly, I am all in! Therefore, having been contacted by C&K was such an honor to assist in providing meals for children around the world.

I feel like everyone who has littles should invest in one of their handmade, precious dolls for your babies. Right now if you buy any two dolls, you will get two of their matching prints free of charge, plus free shipping and in turn can feed 30 meals to children nationally and globally, all while saving around $47 dollars, for a limited time. Another feature that named this toy the best of 2016 is that they come in two different sizes, are named, have their own special birthday, and a favorite quote. I will say, Corbin has LOVED Scout the deer and Scout has literally been so many places in the last couple of weeks. You might say he’s a world traveler! We chose Scout, not only because he is adorable, but his quote is “Follow you heart. It always knows where it’s going.” I found this to be so sweet and something I hope Corbin will always remember as he grows. Corbin sleeps with him every night, reads to him, and takes him on all of our adventures. It really is so precious and I love that he’s going through this phase of having to have Scout everywhere we go!

If you’re interested in learning more about Cuddle & Kind and their mission and impact on so many children, check out their website here. You will love their sense of uniqueness and great selection of handmade knit dolls for girls and boys. Talk about a great gift for a baby shower or birthday and a gift that will be cherished forever!

Thank you to Cuddle & Kind for letting us share and give more insight into the wonderful things you’re doing! We love Scout so much!!
