Whew, we’re finally into trimester numero dos and I couldn’t be happier to finally have some energy back!
I was so tired this time around for the first 10 plus weeks that I felt like I couldn’t hardly get anything accomplished. I’m horrible with laundry, something you already know if you’ve been following for a while, so that wasn’t any different but I just had zero motivation to clean or be as productive as I usually am. Plus, I have a four year old, so naps are few and far between and he is constantly on the go! So happy to finally feel like I can get through the day without a 4 p.m. bedtime!
Also, if you don’t believe pregnancy brain is real or haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing it, I’m here to tell you, it’s legit. I remember forgetting things while I was pregnant with Corbin often, and still do at times, but never have I ever left food at a drive in window, paid in full, until now. Sure, I’ve left my keys in the refrigerator, forgotten to pick up our dogs at the groomer, and left my phone numerous places, but I’ve never forgotten food! Who am I?! It was one of those nights that I wasn’t feeling like cooking, Conrad was still working and so I just thought, we’ll pick up Rosa’s and maybe head to bed a little earlier tonight. I sat in line, for no joke 30 minutes, pulled up to the window, paid and drove off. Corbin had fallen asleep on the drive home so I went in and put him in his bed, then back to the car to get the most delicious nachos ever, only to realize after 20 minutes of searching high and low that they were nowhere to be found. I may have had to ask Jesus for his forgiveness due to my choice of words once I finally realized what I had just done. Luckily, Conrad was close to home so he picked something else up and brought it home. Seriously, though! Have you ever done something like that? That poor lady at the window probably thought I was completely out of my mind. I can only imagine what was going through her mind! Anyway, I’m sure there will be plenty more of those moments ahead, but this was one I had to document, but hopefully not ever relive! 😉
Beyond my memory mishaps, I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! I’m 15 weeks this week and to me, it feels like we just found out, yet here we are, little baby bump and all. I definitely feel different this time around. I remember with Corbin I felt amazing, wanted to eat ALL the fruits and veggies, was a super healthy eater, went on walks and mopped our floor daily. I also napped all the time and just got to focus on growing him. This time I still fell pretty good, no morning sickness PTL, but have had acne, am super moody, poor Conrad, have bouts with hypoglycemia, so if I don’t have a snack on hand I feel like I’m going to pass out and get super nauseous. I’m also growing a little rounder. Not to mention, meat and snow cones sound amazing! So completely opposite food wise from last time. Still eating healthy, but if I want a hamburger, I’m getting one! Lately, we’ve just been playing outside and laying by the pool to soak up these last couple weeks of summer and I’m taking it day by day! If I have energy to go for a walk or exercise, I do. Then on certain days, if I feel drained, I just call it a night early.
Last week I went in for my monthly check up and then to an ultrasound and thankfully everything looks great! Baby is measuring right on schedule for our February 21st due date and seeing those little legs and arms and the activity was so amazing! We have a busy little bee on our hands and it is the most precious sight! Corbin is also so excited and it makes it all the more fun! He kept asking Dr. Lampkin when he could see the baby! Our doctor has a sonography machine in office so we’ve been so lucky to be able to sneak a peak at baby each time we’ve gone for a check up! Baby even waved at big brother during our session! They will be the best of friends I can’t wait to watch them grow up together and see Corbin’s reaction when they meet for the first time. We are all just so excited!! I will say the sleepiness and mood swings will be so worth it once that sweet bundle is in my arms. I am over the moon for that moment.
A few fun facts about baby right now thanks to the Bump app! Loving this app as well as Ovia. Both are awesome and informative, so if you’re expecting check them out! Baby is the size of a naval orange, can hiccup, and is squirming around like crazy, which we got to witness last week! Baby is weighing in around 2.5 ounces, and measuring 4 inches, is able to make facial expressions, swallow and suck his/her thumb! So many amazing things happening this week and I just feel so blessed to be able to grow snd carry this tiny miracle! Also, fun fact! We know what we’re having and will be announcing very soon!!! Stay tuned!!!
Have a great week, friends!!
